We’re not going to lie. We LOVE hearing feedback about SHAmory. Tweets, emails, pictures, videos and DM’s all mean the world to us. But we have to say, the full game review dropped on the wonderful Bitcoin And…podcast was the type of things dreams are made of. Here are just a few of the things David and his two kids had to say:
SHAmory thoughts from a 7 year old
What did David’s 7 year old son love about SHAmory’s Bitcoin card game?
- The artwork and monsters.
- Winning the Bitcoin rewards.
- Wanting to have the monsters be part of a TV show. (we may or may not have this idea on our longterm roadmap as well…)
SHAmory thoughts from a 10 year old
How about David’s 10 year old daughter? Well, she kept it simple and straight to the point:
I liked it all. I don’t know what to tell you dad, but I liked everything about it!David’s 10 year old daughter on SHAmory
We’re not crying, you’re crying. Sometimes it’s the simple words that mean the most. A big thanks to both of those kids for their awesome feedback!
SHAmory thoughts from a parent
Now you’re probably wondering what David thought as well. After all, who else is better to tell it like it is than a parent. Here are just a few things David was kind enough to say:
SHAmory game quality
- Everything about the game is Bitcoin orange. SHAmory has a cohesive color scheme and the cards are very high quality that will last for years. You know, unless it they get worn out from playing 100 times per day.
When I picked the cards up the very first time the first thing I thought was that this deck is going to last a VERY long time. Although maybe not as long as I think because my kids are very much in love with playing this game.David on the quality of the SHAmory cards
What SHAmory teaches kids about Bitcoin
- The game teaches kids a large list of things about how Bitcoin works. This includes the role of nonces and targets, building a blockchain, rewards, 51% attacks and difficulty adjustments.
The game is freaking fun man. And all of these things are the touch points for children to understand or begin to understand something that they are going to be using for the rest of their life.David on the Bitcoin learning concepts provided by SHAmory
Building teamwork through SHAmory
- Competition isn’t just about the individual player winning. It’s the job of all of the players to make sure that the chain remains safe from an attack.
The first time playing, my son, a fierce competitor, threw a fit that he didn’t win. But the second time we played, when his sister turned over a card where the nonce matched the target and she won a reward, because of the attack chain being ever present, he cheered because he knew he was going to win too. My daughter started doing the same. We were all winners.
This is a REALLY cool game mechanic that I have never seen before and is brilliant.David on the teamwork created by playing SHAmory
We also love the tip David used of telling his kids how much each of their rewards are worth in real life! Just think of that conversation after this next bull run. There are going to be some very “rich” SHAmory kids!
A big thanks again to David for taking the time to review the game and share his thoughts with his audience. You can catch all of episode 266 of the Bitcoin And…podcast here.
