SHAmory at the Bitcoin 2021 Conference

Bitcoin 2021 might have ended, but the excitement it generated for your favorite Bitcoin card game is only just beginning! The SHAmory team loved traveling to Miami to meet so many awesome fans from our past and a whole bunch of new ones. 

What was Bitcoin 2021?

Bitcoin 2021 was the world’s largest Bitcoin conference, EVER. With over 13,000 attendees in Miami, the vibes were high and schedule jam packed. The speakers were the who’s who of Bitcoin. Presentations from Jack Dorsey, Michael Saylor and many others had attendees scrambling for a seat. You can catch a replay of the lineup on the Bitcoin Magazine YouTube page. 

Why was SHAmory at Bitcoin 2021?

We had the pleasure of joining our MintGox friends in their Esports Arena. Over the past year Desiree Dickerson has become a big SHAmory supporter. She went above and beyond and offered us the ability to have a table to setup and share our Bitcoin card game. The spot was perfect and let our little Bitcoin monsters shine bright!

What did the crowd think of SHAmory?

Let’s just say the response from everyone blew even our highest expectations out of the water. We loved meeting people who already had played and came over to say they loved it. But just as much we loved the people and companies learning about SHAmory for the first time and saying how awesome and fun it is. We went back to the hotel each night with huge smiles that we won’t ever forget. The hundreds of games that people took home to start playing will be the stepping stone for so many people learning about Bitcoin for the first time.

It was awesome meeting Ryan Bergh and the famous “well loved” SHAmory box. We’d be willing to bet it’s the most used deck of SHAmory of all time. We love the support Ryan and his family have shown from day one!

We also had the pleasure of connecting up with Will Reeves and Natasha Meir, creators of Bitopoly! You might also know Will as the CEO of a “little” Bitcoin company called Fold. He’s probably sent some free Sats your way! We first connected with Will a year ago to talk SHAmory, Bitopoly and Fold ideas. Being able to see the two games in the same place for the first time was a pretty sweet experience. Keep your eyes out, more joint fun to come!
